My apartment complex is not known for its safety. It's not unusual to see police cars and notices on our door (like the one I received today) saying that there was yet another robbery.
So when I came home tonight and heard a loud whirring noise as I opened the door, the first thing I thought (i'm not kidding) was this: "Oh no! Someone has broken in and is VACUUMING our living room! POLICE!"
It was the dishwasher.
