shalom

Tonight, we had a Sader (Passover) dinner (potluck) at my church. All in all, it was a great chance for the nice Jewish man to realize how ignorant we Gentiles are of his (and consequently our) rich heritage. But he was gracious and cracked jokes and really, what more can you ask for when you're watching a bunch of white suburbanites trying to sing Hebrew poetry.

Which leads me to my point for writing. As of tonight, added to my growing list of "must-haves" for the person I hope to marry is the ability to clap and sing in Hebrew. And if he can do that while wearing a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled, I will be wooed.

Ironically, before I even logged in, I had "If I were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof stuck in my head. Reading this post did little to change that.

My first memory of a Sader was at a church in France. The man presenting the Sader spoke French, Hebrew, English and possibly other languages.

I didn't pay close attention to his shirt. My apologies.

Hey Karin, I'm sure a wonderfully attractive Hebrew singing man is right around the corner for you. You are a hoot! Hey, guess what? I'm officially a blogger now! Just got mine up and going finally. Troy's been helping me with some of the technical stuff, thank goodness. I'm gonna add you to my blog links if that's okay. :^) Check mine out sometime when you get the chance.

not that this has to do with you finding a man, but my pastor in boulder is a Messianic Jew so we often sing songs in Hebrew (and then repeat the verse in English).

its fun hearing his sermons because he often includes jewish background on the passage that is lost when reading it with only our Christian heritage.
