Thai New Year

I'm in Thailand and things here are distinctly Asian. Both the airports in Korea and Bangkok had clean lines, lots of glass and modern architecture, and the characteristically Asian bag of crunchy fish. Also, on the plane I was served seaweed soup. Southeast Asia is a diet waiting to happen.

Today through Sunday, the Thai people celebrate their New Year. I'm here right in the thick of celebrations. What this means is that tiny asian boys spray water all over me and run after people with turbo water guns. Also, baby powder gets plastered on people's faces, cars, you name it. I was in a mall in a teenager poured water on my feet. I do not like Thai New Year.

hee hee ... sounds like you're getting your first taste of culture clash already. I'm sure you'll make the most of it and have an amazing time.

One part of my brain thinks, "Wow, what a dedicated blogged Karin is, updating her blog with delightful content from Thailand." The other part of my brain thinks, "If ever a post needed a picture, it was this one."

Alas, I am torn.

That should have said "blogger", not "blogged".

*sigh*

I wish I was there with you. I miss you! That would have been hilarious to see - knowing how much you love their culture and all. :)

Make memories. Take photos. Do not be politically incorrect. Get back here safely.

Maybe I'm jealous of you right now. I realize that such a blog as that would not invoke jealousy in a normal person. I'm just being honest here. Have fun!!

Oh Casey, do not be jealous. Did you read the part about crunchy fish and seaweed soup???
