- When going on a mission trip to the middle east, it's probably not the best idea to have your mom find out through a support letter in the mail
- Coming to bible study with a printed out syllabus and an assignment for everyone to read ten chapters by next Tuesday, might not be the best idea either
- You can't make spaghetti in the microwave

In regards to the first statement: It's also probably not the best idea to let your parents know that you're going to England for the first time when they get the postcard in the mail. I made that mistake...
Are you sure about that last one? I cooked just about anything in the microwave my freshman year, including pasta.
Woah - when are you going there? Where specifically? Fill us in, lady?! And, not to burst anyone's bubble, but notifying your parents late about a trip to England is sooo not the same as notifying them late about a trip to the middle east ;)
I don't recall telling anyone it was the same.
You are so meant to be a professor! And seriously, that is exactly the type of Bible study I would love to attend, one that has great assignments and is organized with a syllabus :)
Thankfully your parents are still young enough to have recovered...and they actually trust that you pray about travel destinations before you sign on!
