run

This has been a red-letter week in terms of exercise. It all started on Monday when the local Orange county library offered a collection of Pilates dvds. Granted, I had to walk through metal detectors and brush up on my Spanish just to find the videos, but I had success nonetheless. Four years in Seminole county and I never once found the dvds.

Last night, I decided I wanted to go for a run. Yes, you read that right. A run. I dusted off the running shoes and off I went. At this point I should (1) ask my mom, all bosses, and anyone who works with HR to stop reading and (2) let you know that this decision to run was a direct result of that tempting coconut rum in my kitchen. I have found my forbidden fruit. 24 hours later I realized there is no reason I would've chosen to run without first being under the influence.

Determined not to have a one night stand with the running shoes, I laced those suckers up for an evening run tonight. In the middle of my journey, a neighbor cheerily called out, "Enjoy your walk!". Walk!??!! I'm running!! Mental note: pick up the pace.

Lest I think all this exercise is in vain, the Lord doubly rewarded me. First, I fit into a pair of jeans that had previously been untouched since 2007 and, better yet, I found money in the back pockets! (which leads me to believe they had not been washed since 2007, but that is entirely beside the point).

Moral of the story: exercise makes my blogs longer

Maybe I should try drinking to encourage exercise. Whodathunkit? You are beating me with all of your running.
