i found my cologne

That's right, kids. I found it. You may remember the great cologne hunt of 2008 (i've gotten many compliments on the jacket of shame i bought, by the way). Turns out, I liked the cologne so much, I bought it in miniature. And wore it. Tonight. (Why do they sell purse size for men's cologne?).

Thank you, Modern by Banana Republic, for making all my dreams come true. And it's only $6 right now at the outlet store. Cheaper than lunch at Chipotle.

Which leads me to the question: women wearing men's cologne. Hot or not?

I am torn. If the fragrance is too masculine or heavy it may be off putting. However, there are many scents meant for men that would work perfectly with a feminine chemistry.
You know, I have heard of a way to test if a fragrance works with your body chemistry. Put some on your palm and lick it. If you get a soapy taste it works, but if it tastes metal-like then it will not work with your Ph levels of your body.
Have you ever noticed how the same perfume can smell so different of various people?

I'll admit. I did it. I can still taste the soap, so I guess that's a good sign...

I too was more a fan of Clinique's Happy for Men more than the women's perfume version. I never purchased it in place of the perfume, but you know the only thing that stopped me is because I figure as much as I love men's cologne....men must love women's perfume. Thus, they would love me if I were wearing perfume ;)

Yes, I agree about not wearing something too masculine. (Or anything with a name like Axe. :D) But otherwise...hey, why not?

And I am totally going to do the taste test thing when I get home.

I think comparing the price of the cologne to a Chiptole meal reveals the quality of the cologne...

Interesting observation, Scott. Would it help if I said that Chipotle is over-priced?

It might be a turn off if you smelled like your date...
