the blog worked!

People criticized my holiday want ad (you know who you are), but it was successful! Thanks, John, for stepping up to the plate. As a reward, you can use Jim's boat any time you want.

In other news, here are some personal highlights:
  • This will be my first Christmas without a live Christmas tree. Incidentally, this is the first Christmas season that I am not sneezing, coughing, wheezing, or altogether a walking allergy. I believe there might be a connection.
  • Last week, my roommate saved my life. There was a snake on the sidewalk at the bottom of the stairs who had no intention of moving, no matter how hard I glared. (or cowered). I called her and she came downstairs with her trusty Mr. Clean scrubber stick and shooed him away. I no longer walk barefoot in the grass.
  • Unless I find a new place to live, I'll get to experience my first eviction. Also, a nice man told me that all the wires dangling from my closet ceiling light is a fire hazard. Frankly, I was more concerned about the big hole and all the fuzzy ceiling stuff that falls on my head.
  • Finally, I am very excited to see two girls who mean the world to me. In just a few weeks, I get to see Amanda and Jen! I can't wait!!!

You should be concerned about that fuzzy stuff falling on your head, if it contains asbestos then breathing it in could shorten your life :P

Why has your dad, the firefighter, not been alerted to this hazard. He knows people who can get some action on stuff like this.
Evicted???? What?!

Can't wait to see you, my friend. 2 or 3 times or maybe even 10. Should we all run (you, Jen and I) even though we are all on doctor prescribed orders or in your case personal orders not to run for 4 weeks?

Happy Birthday to you!!

Hey Jake,

My name is Dave. I am a huge fan of your blog. I had an idea for you to write.

Third Millennium Ministries to me is the best thing we have got going missions wise in the reformed faith. It perplexes me that when I ask people, "have you heard of this?" It seems they have never heard about it.

Check it out. http://www.thirdmill.org If you agree with me you can help get the word out. People listen to you. I can tell from the blog.

Dave
