All this is to say, presumably we would be making better decisions overall if we individually wore uniforms, thereby eliminating at least one major to semi-major daily decision (depending on your particular level of self-confidence).

Well, as a parent of a child who wears a uniform to school, I love the idea of uniforms. One less thing to worry and/or argue about in the morning. Time-saver, sanity-saver, and so yes, I think it can have significant ramifications. It *can*, but I'm not sure I can say it generally *does*.
I wanted to comment, but I didn’t know what to say. My brain feels better, just leaving it at this.
Black slacks and a colorful top. Yes, I like the 'uniform' approach. Less thinking in the morning makes for a less stressed and better functioning brain the rest of the day!
I personally love the idea of uniforms for work. There's less to think about in the morning, and more of a branded identification with the company. That said, I have seen some really hideous uniforms out there -- and have worn my share of them -- and pray to God that the days of wearing tight-waisted pilly polyester too-short pants are over for me!
I think I'm definitely more confident when dressed "smart casual" for presentations and meetings etc...
Whatayamean, boring? This is an interesting question that deserves consideration and debate. As for your pictoral example--I guess I could see myself wearing one of these. A little tight in the shoulders, maybe, but at least it'd be cool in summer.
Forget uniformity, be creative and let it enrich your soul.
